Summary from Goodreads:
"Teagan Wylltson's best friend, Abby, dreams that horrifying creatures--goblins, shape-shifters, and beings of unearthly beauty but terrible cruelty--are hunting Teagan. Abby is always coming up with crazy stuff, though, so Teagan isn't worried. Her life isn't in danger. In fact, it's perfect. She's on track for a college scholarship. She has a great job. She's focused on school, work, and her future. No boys, no heartaches, no problems.

Until Finn Mac Cumhaill arrives. Finn's a bit on the unearthly beautiful side himself. He has a killer accent and a knee-weakening smile. And either he's crazy or he's been haunting Abby's dreams, because he's talking about goblins, too . . . and about being The Mac Cumhaill, born to fight all goblin-kind. Finn knows a thing or two about fighting. Which is a very good thing, because this time, Abby's right. The goblins are coming."

This book definitely just barely lived up to my expectations. I really loved the characters, for the most part the plot, and the world(s) in which they lived. Although, and I've seen this same thought from other bloggers, the third quarter of the book when they were in Mag Mell (goblin/faery land) seemed to be very rushed when that was the most interesting part of the story to me (other than Teagan and Finn's romance of course!).

I really loved some of the characters in the story! Teagan and Finn, of course I loved them! They had such a sizzling romance even though it was just a very small part of the story. Lennie, who was Teagan's neighbor was just darling and my heart completely went out to him! If I ever saw anyone bully him I would put them in their place in a second! He's just too sweet. Abby, who was Teagan's best friend, I didn't really like her. She just irked me. Maybe it was that she could have those weird dreams that would cause her to go to church and pray (even though she didn't like to) and still couldn't believe Teagan about the goblins that stressed me out. She should believer her friend even if she sounds crazy cause her friend believed her when she sounded crazy! (If that made sense.) Mamieo was the ultimate character though! She's tough as nails and doesn't take any shite even though she's an old woman now! The characters were just great! Even the littler characters I didn't mention were in my opinion very interesting!

The worlds were very cool in my opinion! Hamilton did an excellent job blending the real world and the goblin world together and creating characters that were capable of walking in both. Also, I loved the way that she used details to tie things together from the beginning of the book to later on. Such as with Ginny Greenteeth!

The plot was pretty good, a lot of action, a dash of romance. I liked that there was something always going on. And like I said before I like how everything was tied together neatly. I didn't like however that their time in Mag Mell seemed rushed. I felt that they should have spent a lot more time there because it was just such a cool place with so many possibilities. I'm sure that they'll go back in the next book in the series (that's why series are great) but I felt that they could have spent some more time there. Even if the book had to be longer, I'm sure no one would have minded since it was so good!

Overall, the characters, plot, and setting were all great. The only thing I wished was different was that they're stay in Mag Mell wasn't so short but I'm betting we'll be seeing more of that place in the next book so I don't mind too much! Definitely a book whose sequel I'm looking forward to!

  2. I LOVE Tyger Tyger! I thought the world was both amazing and dangerous. In my mind it literally looked dangerous. I loved the main characters and I loved how they got to the goblin world. I'm excited for the second book!
